Alaska Statewide Virtual System (AKSVS):

• • • Stand-alone courses for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 (platform + course content). No course development required. Just add your teachers, add your students, and go!
    • Taught by your district’s teachers (or by Alaska educators from partner districts)
    • Core content courses (English, Math, Science, Social Studies)
    • Credit recovery courses for high school students
    • TRAINING available for teachers on best practices in teaching online with AKSVS
    • Cost: $50-$95 per student, per course, depending on grade level and type  
    • Want to offer summer classes but your district doesn’t have teaching staff available? Contact us for ways to partner with other AKSVS schools and teaching staff.

Canvas Alaska:

• • • Alaska’s Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) houses content designed and built by your teachers, or via content from the “Alaska Commons” within Canvas
    • Your teachers select the courses and/or content, customize within the Canvas LMS, enroll students, and teach!
    • Course offerings are limited only by the district, school, or teacher’s imagination
    • Most applicable for districts currently using Canvas through AK DEED’s statewide license, but any educator in Alaska has access to Canvas and may utilize the LMS to support summer learning
    • Training available for teachers on using the Canvas LMS
    • Cost: NO cost to Alaska educators or students.
